INTERNSHIPS
Internships with our organization are dynamic, challenging and inspirational. The following is a list of current opportunities. If you have a skill to contribute to our organization that you do not see listed below, feel free to contact us with a proposal.
1) Art Promotion & Communications Assistant
Maintain correspondence for a national lecture tour and art exhibition, and with a global network of project advisors and representatives. Qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and work independently. Completion of (or enrollment in) a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Visual Art (or a related field) is a plus. Candidates who have comparable work experience will also be considered. Flexible hours, between 6-12/week.
2) Art Writer
Help create inspiring text relating to the Skywheel Project for a variety of venues. Work on copy for our website, press releases, promotional and educational materials, presentations, and correspondence. Qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication skills, research skills, and the ability to multi-task and work independently. Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in communications/arts is preferred. Candidates who are enrolled in a Bachelor’s program, or who have comparable work experience will also be considered. Flexible hours, between 6-12/week.
3) Research & Cultural Outreach Assistant
Be a part of a network of researchers collecting prayers and sacred text from diverse cultures around the world as a part of the Skywheel Project. Create short descriptions of your findings to be used on our blog, website, etc... Research the background of the sacred text entries we receive for the Skywheel Satellite. Correspond with spiritual representatives and advisors. Qualifications include excellent research skills, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and work independently. Must be able to provide your own laptop. Completion of a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidates who are enrolled in a Bachelor’s program, or who have comparable work experience will also be considered. Flexible hours, between 6-12/week.
4) Film & Video Artist
Work with the Skywheel team to create a 2 minute video that highlights the Skywheel Project's purpose and vision. This video will be use a variety of ways (on our website, on Youtube and at presentations) to creatively showcase the details of the project. This is a unique opportunity to build a solid portfolio piece while working for an exciting humanitarian global art project! Applicants must provide their own equipment, be enrolled in a college level Film/Video program, and be able to commute to the studio in Orange County, CA. Flexible hours, between 6-12/week.
5) Graphic & Web Design Internship
Web Design and Graphic design students can gain valuable experience upgrading and updating the Skywheel Website, or designing cusstom graphics to be used in Skywheel Project lectures, newsletters and the website. We are looking for a student enrolled in a college level program who can provide their own equipment and commute to the studio in Orange County, CA. While we prefer an intern who has a working knowledge of both fields, we will accept separate applications for Graphic Design or Web design. Flexible hours, between 6-12/week.
